One Direction ‘On The Road’ Tour In Philippines Requires Drug Testing?

Filipino One Direction fans are looking forward to the guys performing in the Philippines on March 21 and March 22. But some members of the famous boy band may have to undergo a drug test. The Mirror reported that a local organization in the country is requiring Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson to take a drug test.

Leaders of the organization are appealing to the Philippine government’s Bureau of Immigration. According to Hollywood Take, they were reportedly told by the Filipino government that they would have to require the One Direction guys to take a drug test. However, the One Direction Philippine concert will still go on as planned, whether or not Malik and Tomlinson take a drug test.

Laban ng Pamilyang Pilipino is the name of the local organization. They allegedly shared a photo of Zayn smoking marijuana with the caption, “No drug test, no entry.” This seems to conflict with Hollywood Take’s report that says the One Direction guys will perform no matter what.

The requirement for the drug test comes after the news that a video leaked last year showing Louis and Zayn allegedly smoking weed during their trip to Peru. The local organization says that they’re only looking out for the One Direction fans, and they want to ensure a safe and fun concert for everyone.

After news spread that a drug test would affect the One Direction Philippines concert, fans of the boy band made the hashtag #StoptheDRUGTESTfor1DPH trend worldwide, says The Gossip Cop.

Malik has reportedly dropped out of appearances. He also missed a performance on the Today show because he was feeling under the weather. When One Direction was interviewed on the morning talk show, Matt Lauer asked the remaining guys, “There have been rumors of substance abuse, what’s going on?”

Zayn was angry about the substance abuse allegations. He reportedly told The Sun,“I’m really angry and upset by what was said. I was really ill at the weekend, that’s why I couldn’t fly to America.”

Tomlinson hasn’t been the subject of drug abuse allegations since the controversial video leaked last year. He also hasn’t been reported to have missed work commitments, performances, or appearances.

Before One Direction makes a stop in the Philippines, the boy band is scheduled to perform in Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand as the Asian leg of their On The Road Again tour continues.

What are your thoughts on Laban ng Pamilyang Pilipino demands that Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson be given drug tests in order to perform in the Philippines? Do you think it’s fair?
