Scott Disick Checks Into Rehab: Five-Star Costa Rica Facility Uses ‘Psychoactive’ Alcoholism Treatment [Video]

As Scott Disick checks into rehab into Costa Rica, the long-time boyfriend of Kourtney Kardashian is coming clean about why he’s getting help. And Disick is candid in admitting his addiction to alcohol, reported Radar Online.

“Everyone is extremely proud of him for making the decision to go and get help,” revealed an insider.

But Scott headed off to rehab only after a heavy drinking bout during his Atlantic City weekend visit. And after going off his vows to stay clean and sober to such an extent, Disick felt that he had no alternatives, added the insider.

“There was no denying it this time. It was his choice to go and he told Kourtney that he loves her very much and wants to make sure that he is around to watch the kids get old.”

This won’t be Scott’s first trip to rehab. During the summer filming of Kourtney & Khloe Take The Hamptons in New York, Disick also went to rehab. He made that decision when he was forced to head to a hospital for treatment from alcohol poisoning.

But this time around, before his trip to rehab, Disick’s Atlantic City weekend turned into a very public display of his alcoholism, according to TMZ.

Scott was seen gulping down shot after shot of tequila, which he followed up by ranting on a stage. At 8 a.m., he managed to return to the hotel lobby, minus his shoes. Disick couldn’t be found until 5 p.m., when outsiders checked on him in his hotel room.

So just what is the treatment for alcoholism? It’s an Iboga treatment that comes from an African tree and reportedly assists in overcoming addiction.

Disick will be staying at a facility housed on a private estate which features a spa, fitness center, mud bath, and five-star restaurant. Scott commented on his decision to check into the Rythmia Life Advancement Center in Costa Rica.

“I realize my issues are bigger than me and I’m ready to truly remedy this struggle I continue to battle.”

However, Disick may be receiving a fee to go off to rehab, according to EntertainmentWise.

“Scott was paid to go to rehab. He won’t be there for 30 days,” claimed a source.

In addition, as for Iboga, some questions arise as to the appropriateness of the treatment for alcoholism, according to Dr. Barry M. Rose MD, an anesthesiologist at California Pacific Medical Center.

“Iboga is a psychoactive drug, which enables the user to have insight into his/her plight in life, and illuminate their spiritual being, so as to overcome their ‘addiction’ by deeper understanding of self,” clarified the MD.

Moreover, side effects can range from psychosis to behavior concerns.

As for Kanye West, who also has spoken out on the ongoing problems presented by Scott to the family as a whole, he believes that Kourtney should ban Scott from seeing their children. West suggested to his wife Kim Kardashian that she advise her sister accordingly, added the insider.

“Kanye’s not really a big fan of Scott as a father. He thinks Scott takes fatherhood for granted. He also thinks Scott makes stupid decisions and doesn’t consider himself, his wife or his children when he should. Kanye’s furious about Scott’s latest acts of stupidity and he told Kim that she should tell Kourtney not let Scott see his children until he gets his act together.”

As the Inquisitr reported, Disick and Kourtney Kardashian have three children. Their newest son, Reign, is only three months old. They also have a daughter, Penelope, who is 2-years-old and an older son, Mason, who is 5-years-old.

What do you think? Is Kanye correct, and should Kourtney ban Scott from seeing their children until she feels he is on the right path? Did Scott Disick check into the right rehab to get help? Post your comments below.
