WWE News: Brock Lesnar Comments On His WWE Contract Status

One of the biggest topics in WWE over the last several months has been Brock Lesnar’s WWE contract status, and whether or not he’ll re-sign with WWE or leave and return to the UFC. Nobody knows exactly what Lesnar will do when his WWE contract expires at the end of this month, but during a pre-taped promo that aired during tonight’s RAW, Lesnar addressed his WWE contract status, but didn’t say whether or not he would re-sign with WWE, and only promised that whether he stays or goes, he’ll remain the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

“Here’s the deal with my WWE contract status — if I stay, I’ll be the WWE Champion. If I go, I’ll be the WWE Champion.”

Lesnar did not mention the UFC at all during his pre-taped promo, but he did seem fired up, saying at the end of the promo that at WrestleMania he’s going to “f**k up Roman Reigns.”

WWE play-by-play man Michael Cole promised before the promo aired that would be controversial, but other than the language at the end, there really wasn’t anything controversial about it.

If Lesnar decides to leave for the UFC, it’s possible that the UFC will look to pair Lesnar’s return to the octagon with former WWE Champion CM Punk’s UFC debut. Also, it’s almost a guarantee that Lesnar’s UFC return will see him taking on Frank Mir, who handed Lesnar his first ever loss in Lesnar’s UFC debut.

Word is that there is one major issue that is preventing Lesnar from re-signing with WWE, and that neither Lesnar or Vince McMahon will budge on the issue. Many people believe that the issue is that Lesnar wants to fight in the UFC while still being under WWE contract. In the past, both UFC President Dana White and Vince McMahon have been adamantly against someone being under contract with both organizations.

Back in 2011, Brock Lesnar signed a deal with WWE while he was under UFC contract that allowed WWE to sell Brock Lesnar-related merchandise, and allowed THQ to put Brock Lesnar in that year’s WWE ’12 video game.

There are rumors that WWE will have Lesnar retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania if he decides to re-sign with WWE. But, as of right now, Lesnar hasn’t re-signed with WWE, and if he has, WWE is doing their best job to keep it quiet, and making their fans think that Lesnar will be leaving at the end of this month.
