The fact behind what’s in your trash? [Infographic]

Trash, we create mega tons of it every day and while a lot of people try to be careful about how they recycle stuff or reduce the amount of trash we produce daily the fact is that the amount being produced isn’t reducing by any real measurable amount.

Some quick bullet facts to make you think twice about your trash producing ways:

• Americans produce more than 250 tons of garbage in 2010
• More than 70 million tons of paper is discarded every year
• 28.6 million tons of plastic ended up in garbage dumps and incinerators
• 3 million tons of glass ended up in landfill sites

As much as we might like to delude ourselves otherwise the fact is that we are still spewing out garbage at record rates and there is no sign of this slowing down.
