Ken Gregory recently made headlines after a shocking domestic altercation he was involved in with his wife. As previously reported on Inquisitr, the 65-year-old man and his wife became embroiled in a heated verbal sparring match over his desire to visit his deceased wife’s grave for her birthday.
Apparently, his 60-year-old now-ex-wife, Teresa Gilbertson, wasn’t too pleased with her husband’s plans to pay homage to his former lover. According to BBC News, the argument was so intense, the couple had made plans to divorce by the time the argument was over. Unfortunately for Gregory, things would only get worse. His wife allegedly poured scalding hot water on his head and back. As a result of the heinous act, Gregory suffered first and second-degree burns on 14 percent of his body.
Now, Gregory is reportedly speaking out about the disheartening incident that took place last March. During a recent interview, he shared details about the incident and the aftermath he suffered while recovering from the horrific burns. He is also speaking out against male domestic violence and encouraging other victims to have the courage to report such crimes. Although it is quite common for male domestic violence to go unreported due to the shameful stigma it receives, Gregory wants men to know and understand there is “nothing to be ashamed of.”
“It was unbearable, searing pain. I’d never known anything like it.
Being attacked by a woman is nothing to be ashamed of… As a man who is a bit older and who isn’t exactly small, there is a perception that you can’t be a victim of domestic violence. But it should be the same message that they put out for women — don’t be frightened, you don’t have to put up with it.”
Gregory’s ex-wife Teresa Gilbertson is scheduled to be sentenced on Mar. 24.
