Madonna A Prisoner? Guy Ritchie Revelations Take Fans Inside Her Last Marriage

Madonna felt like a prisoner during her marriage to Guy Ritchie. That is just one of the new revelations the pop diva shared this week as she promotes her latest album release. Rebel Heart has dealt with its fair share of issues in recent months. A leak of some of the material earlier this year upset Madonna, but she did not let the leak stop her from releasing the album to her fans.

Madonna has been hitting the talk show circuit and talking with print media in recent days. She has spoken candidly about her past and her love life. The revelations about her marriage to Guy Ritchie are shocking though, and they do not paint the director in the best possible light.

In an interview with the Sun, via Mail Online, Madonna spoke candidly about her eight-year-long marriage to Guy Ritchie.

“I did find myself sometimes in a state of conflict. There were many times when I wanted to express myself as an artist in ways that I don’t think my ex-husband felt comfortable with… There were times when I felt incarcerated. I wasn’t really allowed to be myself.”

Since her divorce from Guy Ritchie in 2008, Madonna has been criticized about her love life. She has dated men younger than her, and that has earned her a lot of heat from people that do not think she should be dating men less than half her age.

Madonna did express her feelings about the criticism she receives about her love life, and she is not happy about the double standard when it comes to men dating younger women and women dating younger men.

“It’s OK if Mick Jagger dates a 25-year-old girl but if I date a 25-year-old man I’m, you know… it’s ridiculous. It’s so unfair, I mean, I don’t get it.”

Madonna did make another shocking revelation about her love life this week. Before his death, she dated Tupac Shakur briefly. According to a previously released Inquisitr report, Madonna shared that bit about her romantic past during a special 90-minute interview with Howard Stern earlier this week.

“I was in a weird mood that day. I was dating Tupac Shakur at the time and the thing is he got me all riled up on life in general. So when I went on the show I was feeling very gangsta.”

The interviews have continued this weekend. According to the Telegraph, Madonna’s appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show in the U.K. aired on Saturday, and she took over his entire show. That is not something stars have the chance to do, but she is not just anyone.

Madonna spoke about Guy Ritchie again during the appearance. She did not repeat her earlier comments when she sat down with Jonathan Ross. This time, she put the blame on the end of the marriage on bad timing. She did reveal that she is currently single, and she is ready to take on a new relationship.

What kind of man does Madonna want?

“The right man would not be intimidated by me. I’m kind of old-fashioned and I like it when someone else makes the first move.”

As for Rebel Heart, Madonna has continued to deal with problems with the release. The latest issue has to do with radio airplay. BBC Radio 1 will not play any of the singles from her new album on-air. Madonna accused the radio station of ageism because of the decision.

According to the Guardian, BBC Radio released a statement defending their move to not include Madonna’s latest single on-air.

“Radio 1 does not ever ban artists and Madonna’s track ‘Living For Love’ has been played on the station. The tracks are chosen on musical merit and their relevance to our young audience on a case-by-case basis, and whilst around 40 percent of the country’s 15- to 29-year-olds tune into Radio 1 each week, an artist’s age is never a factor. The song is not currently on our playlist.”
