‘Walking Dead’ Spoilers: Is There A Traitor Lurking in Alexandria?

Rumors about the final three Walking Dead episodes this season are running wild across the internet, with allegations of who will die and who might be a traitor lurking in Alexandria. According to an episode synopsis posted on multiple Walking Dead forums, there will be one definite betrayal this Sunday in “Spend” and two deaths.

Major spoilers follow, so read on at your own risk.

Many Walking Dead fans feel that Enid’s (Katelyn Nacon) story of being the last survivor of her group is suspicious, and that she is actually spying on Alexandria for The Wolves. This would explain why she sneaks off on her own outside the community, and fans have noted the comic she left behind in one house was called “Wolf Attack.”

This spoiler may prove to be true on a future episode, but not this week. This week on The Walking Dead, the traitor is much closer to home. In fact, it’s someone in our survivors’ group.

Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) shows his gratitude for being saved by Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the gang by running to Alexandria leader Deanna (Tovah Feldshuh) to tell her their newest arrivals have done horrible things. Unfortunately for this Walking Dead Judas, Maggie (Lauren Cohan) overhears everything he says. Which means Rick is going to know, which means Father Gabriel had better watch his back.

Actually, if Rick is going to find out, that means Carol (Melissa McBride) is going to find out, which means Father Gabriel better start running.

Carol will continue baking cookies in “Spend” after scaring the son of Jessie (Alexandra Breckinridge) and Pete (Corey Brill) last week with her threatening horror story, but now Carol seems to be switching to protective mother bear. When Carol suspects Pete of abuse, she wants to skip any kind of investigation or trial and proceed directly to a death sentence, telling Rick he needs to kill him.

On The Walking Dead, Carol has been the person who does what needs to be done when no one else will step up and do it. From her extreme practicality in trying to contain a major epidemic at the prison to showing Lizzy the proverbial flowers, Carol has shown she can make the hard decisions. But in the last two episodes of The Walking Dead, she seems to have gone over the edge into territory indicating she’s too far gone.

Even though there have been very few death rumors for Carol, one has to start wondering how she can continue in this group as she goes farther over the edge, and if maybe it’s Carol who will die on the season finale of The Walking Dead. Or be exiled once again.

That’s still a few episodes away, but for this Sunday, two people will die: one from the Alexandria camp, and one from Rick’s group. Yes, it’s no coincidence that Noah (Tyler James Williams) has been cast in a new series. He’s also a guest on Talking Dead tonight, although they’re trying to confuse fans by also having Steven Yeun and Josh McDermitt as guests, as well. It’s a standing tradition to appear on the show after your character dies.

What will really complicate matters is that Noah’s death will be because of someone in the Alexandria group, so the you-know-what is going to hit the fan when Rick and company find out they lost one of their own because of this Alexandrian’s cowardice and incompetence.

It’s not going to be pretty, even by Walking Dead standards.

Forget the threats outside the walls, there will be plenty within on this week’s episode of The Walking Dead. The Walking Dead airs Sundays on AMC at 9 p.m. ET.
