Romeo Santos Gets Proposition From Plus-Sized Model

The famed 33-year-old bachata singer and songwriter, Romeo Santos, has “no problem getting frisky with fans,” according to Voxxi, and quite frankly “loves women of all shapes and sizes.” And now, there’s one plus sized model who wants him to prove it.

Jennifer Barreto-Leyva, who is not just a plus-sized model but also a TV host, lawyer and journalist along with being the first Latina to win the Miss Universe Plus Size, has proposed that Santos and she do a joint project. Barreto-Leyva is asking Santos to do a duet with her that would focus on improving the body image of plus-sized latin women.

Barreto-Leyva told Corriente Latina, “I want to invite him and propose him to work together…Romeo always wanted to help Latino women to feel secure about their bodies, telling them they are beautiful no matter what size they are and that exactly is the main goal and purpose of my job and life mission, what started my career over 20 years ago.”

The plus-sized model continued, adding that she and Santos “are both history makers, giving a powerful and necessary message. Latino plus size women have been terribly portrayed in the media and psychologically abused by it. We need to reclaim her and give a good impact.”

The Venezuelan beauty added that a duet with Santos, the New York native, would be “sensational and brilliant!”

Santos has yet to respond to the model’s proposal.

Santos recently appeared at the 23rd Annual ASCAP Latin Music Awards on Wednesday, March 11 in Los Angeles at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Santos, along with songwriter Claudia Brant, won the honor of Songwriters of the Year.

According to Billboard, Santos received the award because he “penned six tracks, including his No. 1 hits ‘Cancioncitas de amor’ and ‘Odio,’ featuring Drake.”

This is the fifth time that Santos was awarded this honor and only the second time for Brant.

Santos, who has worked with such music superstars as Nicki Minaj and Enrique Iglesias, has released two albums of his own as a solo artist and has made it his mission to “continue making bachata universal.” Romeo Santos has also expressed interest in becoming an actor, making an appearance in Fast and The Furious 7 along with voicing a character for the animated film Angry Birds.
