‘Viagra’ Spiders: Can They Help Erectile Dysfunction Or Not?

While not considered generic Viagra, believe it or not, current research is providing whether spiders in Brazil can help men’s erectile dysfunction issues.

These spiders are also known as erection spiders or “Viagra” spiders. However, their localized name is Brazilian wandering spider. One bite from one of them could cause an erection for hours.

From face value, it seems like the savior for erectile dysfunction. One bite and a husband pleases his wife until the morning hours. Yet, when things seem too good to be true, many times, they’re just that.

Not that someone would willingly allow such a thing to happen, erections from “Viagra” spiders come with extra costs. As to take a line from the film 300, the biting-spider might say, “This will not feel good; you will not enjoy it.”

Like Viagra commercials suggest, “if your erections last more than four hours, seek immediate emergency attention.” Well, this is a similar erectile case. The difference is that one won’t have to wonder if that emergency attention should or shouldn’t be needed.

“Viagra” spiders are noted to be the most venomous arachnids in the world. The neuro-toxin they release into one’s blood stream causes muscular paralysis and eventual asphyxia (essentially suffocation). And about that erection, it’s painful. Though it is a naturally-caused increase, it hurts badly since the victim’s blood pressure rises dramatically and is uncontrollable except with an antidote.

However, as aforementioned, researchers are looking into extracting the venom’s capabilities and using it for male enhancement purposes, particularly erectile dysfunction, says Romulo Leite from the Medical College of Georgia. As it notes in Live Science, Leite explains his goal.

“The erection is a side effect that everybody who gets stung by this spider will experience along with the pain and discomfort. We’re hoping eventually this will end up in the development of real drugs for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.”

Could one imagine getting bit by a erection-spider during Spring Break? All bad.

In recent news, in a weird twist of events, a Britain mother found Banana spiders inside of her bananas. As is reported by the Huffington Post, she grabbed the bananas and sealed them in a box, placing and leaving the box inside of her freezer.

In an update, she still had not received an help from any authority organizations on the matter. So, all in all, what are your thoughts on the “Viagra” spider? What would you do if you received infested bananas?
