If you grew up in the 1990s, you remember both the Notorious B.I.G. hit "Hypnotize" and the strange but hilarious live-action show Dinosaurs.
Now, one YouTube user has found a perfect way to combine the two into an outrageous mashup. Benjamin Roberts had a weekend away from his wife and kids, so he decided to spend it by matching up the giant walking dinosaur Earl Sinclair with lyrics by Biggie Smalls. And it's about as perfect as can be.
Anyone who was of television-watching age in the early 1990s will remember Dinosaurs as a sort of strange combination of The Honeymooners and The Simpsons that featured live-action dinosaurs (or at least people in suits dressed as dinosaurs).
It turns out that the lead character, Earl Sinclair, has the expressions and movements that match up perfectly with a rap song.
As Benjamin Roberts explained, the Dinosaurs and "Hypnotize" matchup was originally envisioned differently.
"My initial idea was to make whole video just with the boss, since he looks like an angry rapper too -- but he speaks too rapidly, and Earl was just so much more expressive. I'm sorry the boss didn't make the final cut, he is a hilarious character," he wrote on reddit.
The link Roberts shared on reddit was quickly voted to the top of the site, with thousands of votes and comments about its ingenuity.
It seems like Benjamin Roberts has been doing his mashup research. He has "liked" a number of videos of mashups, including one showing the Yip Yip Martians from Sesame Street performing gangster rap. Roberts also follows Andy Rehfeldt, a popular mashup artist.
Rehfeldt is the man behind the popular Mary Poppins heavy metal mashup, as well as a cool one featuring Metallica's "Enter Sandman" set to Jazz music.
But judging by the attention it's already gotten, Benjamin Roberts' mashup of Dinosaurs and "Hypnotize" by Notorious B.I.G. is the biggest mashup yet.
