‘Big Bang Theory’: Jim Parsons’ Hollywood Star To Be Unveiled

During his tenure on The Big Bang Theory, Jim Parsons has received many honors. These have included numerous gongs, rave critical reviews, plus he’s also helped to turn the show into the most popular sitcom on television. However, his biggest honor is set to be presented to him on Wednesday morning, because that’s when he will receive his very own star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

According to CBS Local, the ceremony to unveil Parsons’ star will take place in front of the Hudson Apartments on Hollywood Boulevard. The 41-year-old will be joined by the relentless television producer Chuck Lorre and DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg for the unveiling.

Lorre helped to turn Parsons into a household name, as he was instrumental in getting the 41-year-old actor cast as Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory. Lorre is the co-creator of the show, while he also works as an executive producer on it, too.

Meanwhile Katzenberg’s studio have financed Home, the upcoming animation that will feature Parsons’ voice and is due out on March 27.

Before being cast in The Big Bang Theory, Parsons honed and perfected his craft in numerous off-Broadway shows, before he was then cast in minor, film roles, including Zach Braff’s Garden State.

But it was after he was hired as Dr. Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory that he truly saw his career sky-rocket. In fact, he is so integral to the show’s success that after several months of negotiations during the summer, he signed a deal to continue portraying the character for a further three seasons for $1 million an episode.

Parsons was originally announced as one of 2015’s Hollywood Walk Of Fame honorees back in July, 2014. Among the 30 people to also be selected were Will Ferrell, Melissa McCarthy, Peter Jackson, Daniel Radcliffe, Jennifer Garner, and Paul Rudd from the world of film, while television’s James L. Brooks, Seth MacFarlane, Julianna Marguiles, and Amy Poehler will also be recognised.

It’s been a rather busy week for Parsons. On Monday he took to his Instagram account to reveal that he’d met the retired politician and former Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives for Arizona, Gabbie Gifford, as well as her husband, the retired astronaut, Mark Kelly, during filming for The Big Bang Theory.

Parsons uploaded an image of himself alongside the duo and his Big Bang Theory co-star, Mayim Bialik, with the caption, “What an incredible honor to meet @gabbygiffords and Mark Kelly at work today… I’m such a fan of both of these people… (And, of course, it’s always an honor to be at work with @missmayim.”
