My Wife Is A Cheater: 31-Year-Old Husband Arrested For Arson, Could Face Additional Charges
The man who allegedly wrote “my wife is a cheater” in spray paint on a home before setting it on fire has been arrested. According to USA Today, 31-year-old William Lindauer was taken into custody, police saying that the words painted on the home were the only clue they needed to make an arrest in the case. Lindauer is a husband and a father of three, who presumably lived in the home with his family.

No one was home when Lindauer allegedly started the fire, which was described as an explosion, with debris flying all over the yard and the street. While no one was injured in the blast, and the subsequent blaze, the home was completely destroyed. Arvada, Colorado, firefighters couldn’t even enter the home when they arrived just after 1:30 a.m., because it was too dangerous.
“Debris found in the street indicates there was an explosion, but it is too early in the investigation to determine a cause,” said Deanna Harrington with the Arvada Fire Department.
The “my wife is a cheater” message was written in at least two places on the home, and a person’s name was also written, but was covered up by authorities. The name was more than likely that of Lindauer’s wife. According to the Huffington Post, Mr. Lindauer was arrested on Tuesday morning, just hours after the fire was put out. He has been charged with first degree arson, and could face additional charges.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, this sounded like a case of a scorned man from the beginning. Police are fairly confident that they have the right man in custody, and aren’t looking for any more suspects at this time. As for the home, it is quite possible that it will be a total loss. There was not any information about the wife or the couple’s three children, or where they are staying following the fire.
Mr. Lindauer is due in court in the coming weeks. It is unknown if he will be able to post bail, or if he will even be given the option.
