Nick Carter Skips His Sister’s Funeral

Leslie Carter was laid to rest on February 5th in a small funeral in upstate New York. Her funeral was attended by a small group of family members. Notably absent was Leslie’s brother Nick. Nick had a show in Philadelphia and decided to honor his commitment to the show than attend.

What makes things even worse was that the Backstreet Boy was rumored to be left out of the loop as to the funeral date by his own family.

Leslie was found dead on Jan. 31 at age 25. She died of an apparent overdose after a long battle with addiction and depression.

Nick Carter explained to The Insider,

“I wanted to be at my sister’s funeral, but my family has always had a complicated dynamic. I love my family. I want to thank everyone for all of their compassion and support that I have received during this most difficult time. There are so many emotions for me surrounding the loss of my sister. I am trying to stay healthy, positive and focused.”

TMZ reported that they received the same statement from the singer, but when his mother, Ginger Carter was asked about Nick being excluded form the funeral she just screamed “That is not true!” and hung up the phone.

Leslie’s other famous brother Aaron took time off from his role on Broadway to mourn saying on his twitter page,

“The truth will reveal itself. I Love you Leslie soo very very very very very much!! virtually no words. You will always be my best friend.” Earlier today (Feb. 6), he added, “My heart is completely broken.. signing off.”
