Rachel Ray Defends 2003 FHM Photo Shoot

Talk host and TV chef Rachael Ray has defended her 2003 appearance in FHM in an interview with Nightline due to be broadcast this evening.

Ray told co-anchor Cynthia McFadden that being 35 (at the time of the shoot) was a good thing: “I thought if I’m gutsy enough to do this, this is a good thing for everybody. This is the everywoman, here she is. And I thought, what the heck? I asked my husband what he thought of it and he said, oh, kinda cool. And I did it and it was the most scared I’ve ever been and I wouldn’t change a thing. I’d do it again tomorrow.”

Ray noted though that not everyone around her embraced the decision, saying that her mother “remains furious” over her doing it. She also claimed that she initially thought FHM stood for “Food and Home” not “For Him Magazine.”
