Mariah Carey Faces More Drama: Can Things Get Any Worse?
This past year hasn’t been a great one for Mariah Carey in terms of her personal or professional life. Carey’s divorce with Nick Cannon has taken a toll over her and it is now getting worse, especially after Cannon filed a lawsuit against Mariah for claiming he wasn’t involved in a deal to sell their $9 million Bel-Air mansion.
According to TMZ, Nick Cannon was cheated because their business manager let her take the lead on the sale of their mansion. In a newly filed lawsuit, Canon claims he never authorized the $9 million sale of the Bel-Air home and believes that their business manager Michael Kane was dealing exclusively with Mariah Carey’s team on the deal. Worse is that Cannon claims he didn’t find out about the deal until after the fact.
TMZ goes on to reveal that Nick wants the bulk of the money frozen until he can determine how much money he is getting. However, according to the Daily Mail, Michael Kane has described Nick Cannon as desperate and denies the “secret” deal. The newspaper also describes Mariah Carey’s beautiful property.
“The gated property features a grand formal entryway, a master suite comparable to a penthouse in the finest hotels, and a dining room with a fireplace. For entertaining, there’s an enormous kitchen and an incredible Aspen room that can accommodate parties of several hundred of your closest friends. The Hamptons-inspired compound has canyon, city and reservoir views of LA and features high ceilings, wood floors and French doors throughout.”
One would think that the drama between Cannon and Carey would be hurting their kids. However, Nick Cannon recently spoke to Extra about their kids last week and said they are doing very well.
“I’m having a lot of fun. I got a cool situation where my house, they have their own rooms, they’re picking out their stuff…they have all this individuality and they have their own space. My daughter wants to go to her room and read books by herself. It’s like, okay, that’s impressive. I’ll let you have some quiet time.”
Publicly, Nick Cannon seems to be moving on from the divorce. According to ContactMusic, Mariah is suffering. They quote an anonymous source claiming Mariah Carey is very jealous of Nick’s new love. However, Mariah Carey certainly didn’t seem to be suffering last week when she stepped out looking as stunning as ever in order to greet her fans. Mariah Carey begins her Las Vegas residency on May 6.
