Desiree Hartsock And Emily Maynard Don’t Agree With ‘Bachelorette’ Pitting Kaitlyn Bristowe And Britt Nilsson Against One Another

Desiree Hartsock and Emily Maynard have both been the star of The Bachelorette so they have first hand experience with what the next Bachelorettes, which Chris Harrison announced on Monday night’s The Bachelor finale will be both Kaitlyn Bristowe and Britt Nilsson, will go through. After the announcement, both Desiree and Emily expressed their opinions on the big twist.

Desiree, who married her final pick, Chris Siegfried, in late January, admitted that she didn’t like the idea of Kaitlyn and Britt competing against one another to find the man of their dreams. Desiree pointed out that there’s already enough cattiness. She also made clear who she thinks should have been the sole Bachelorette.

Emily, who was the Bachelorette prior to Desiree, also doesn’t like the idea of two Bachelorettes at once.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the previous Bachelorette, Andi Dorfman, didn’t even dare to explicitly say what she thought of the new twist lest she get in trouble.

Andi later admitted that she’s rooting for Kaitlyn.

The original Bachelorette, Trista Sutter, was more diplomatic.

On The Bachelor: After the Final Rose special, Chris Harrison said that the men will decide who will ultimately be the sole Bachelorette.

“A lot of opinions going back and forth, so here’s the thing, we actually decided not to decide. For the first time in Bachelorette history, we’re gonna have two Bachelorettes. It’s gonna be Britt AND Kaitlyn. The 25 men on night one will have the ultimate say on who they think will make the best wife.”

Exactly how it’ll work has yet to be explained. Chris H.’s announcement makes it sound as if one of the women will be sent home after the first night after the male contenders reveal, maybe via a secret vote, who they want. In an interview with People, Kaitlyn Bristowe admitted that competing against Britt Nilsson isn’t ideal.

“I’m trying to be really positive about the situation. It’s definitely not ideal, but it’s an incredible opportunity. And if the outcome is me meeting the guy I spend the rest of my life with, then it is all worth it.”

Britt said that she’s just grateful for the opportunity since she knows that she’s not liked by many viewers.

“I don’t know if they’ve ever had someone who has been controversial. I don’t feel like I did anything wrong but people dislike me. I don’t really get that but it’s true. So I’m super grateful.”
