Inter Milan Rumblings: Mauro Icardi, Yaya Toure, Jeremy Toulalan and Mattia Perin

Inter Milan has been rumored to be interested in signing Mauro Icardi, Yaya Toure, Jeremy Toulalan and Mattia Perin to contracts for next season.

TalkSport is reporting that Inter is hopeful that Icardi, 22, will sign a contract extension worth approximately 2.8 million euros per year through 2019 by the end of the week. While Inter’s general director Marco Fassone is hopeful that the team and the star striker will come to an agreement, Icardi told Bein Sports that no deal is imminent.

“I don’t know about my renewal. There are still a lot of things that need sorted,” Icardi said.”But I know we will do well this season and the next under [Inter’s manager Roberto] Mancini.”

Icardi is having a sensational season with the Nerazzurri, tallying his team-high 15th Serie A goal of the season by knocking in a penalty kick to secure a 2-2 draw against Napoli on Sunday. The Argentina International has totaled 24 goals since joining Inter from Sampona prior to the 2013-14 season.

Icardi is currently under contract with the Inter until 2018. TalkSport reported Inter decided to up the ante after English squads Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea started showing interest in Icardi.

Mancini has made it known that he wants to re-unite with Yaya Toure and told La Gazzetta dello Sport’s television station, on Monday, he believes the Manchester City star midfielder would be willing to join him at Inter despite the fact that Toure’s contract with City runs through 2017.

“Yaya’s played in all the top leagues apart from Germany and Italy and if he, as it seems, would like to come to Italy, then there is this possibility. It’s not going to be easy…. but if he were to come to Italy, then Inter would certainly be his first choice.

Toure, who played under Mancini at City from 2010-13, is under contract with City until 2017. There is also the issue of whether Inter will be able to make a fair offer under UEFA’s financial fair play restrictions according to ESPN FC’s Ben Gladwell.

Toure, 31, has 10 goals in 35 matches this year. He has 75 career goals.

Regardless of whether Inter can lure Icardi into staying with the club or Toure into joining, it appears Inter has no intention of standing pat. Italian sports TV channel, Rai Sport, is reporting Inter has recently offered Monaco’s Jeremy Toulalan a three-year contract. The contract for the 31-year-old free agent to be is reportedly around 2 million euros a year.

Mancini is said to be keen on bolstering his squad next season and Toulalan, who is an excellent defensive midfielder, would certainly do that. The Nerazzurri, who are currently ninth in the Serie A standings, need to improve their defense if they want to contend for a league championship next season. Inter has surrendered 34 goals this year.

Mancini is also believed to have eyes on Perin, who is currently the starting goalkeeper for Genoa. Perin has registered 81 saves and six clean sheets in 25 Serie A starts. The 22-year old is said to also be drawing interest from several other clubs.
