Some of the simplest gestures make lasting impressions. One man’s note to a waitress explaining his way of honoring his deceased brother has gone viral.

According to Metro, the man and brother would go out to eat each year to celebrate his birthday. They’d enjoy his brother’s favorite meal — hot dogs. Although his brother is gone now, he has continued to keep the tradition alive.

This year, he left a beautiful note to the waitress who took his order in the restaurant. He explained his purpose by writing a touching note on the back of the restaurant receipt.

The touching note read, “Today is my brother’s b-day. He would have been 36 today. Every year I go eat his favorite meal (Hot Dogs) and tip the waitress his age. Happy B-Day Wes.”

According to WGN-TV, the touching note was reportedly uploaded to Imgur by the waitress who waited on the unnamed man.

The photo included a caption that read, “This guy sat in my section tonight & left a note on the back of his receipt.”

The beautiful note also included a $36.00 tip in solidarity of his deceased brother’s age, reports Metro. The heartwarming note immediately caught the attention of social media users and has gone viral with more than 1.5 million views in just one day.

It has been shared on several social media platforms. Hundreds of readers have had nothing but warm remarks about the man’s touching note.
