Obama’s Grandmother OK After Car Accident

President Obama’s grandmother, Sarah Obama, was in a car accident in western Kenya yesterday. Obama, 90, is now resting comfortably at home.

Sarah said:

“God is with me, because if you could have seen the wreckage that we came out of safe, one would wonder. You can see I was not injured save for this small scar on my right hand and I am not even using a walking stick.”

The Daily Mail reports that Sarah Obama is the second wife of President Obama’s grandfather, Hussein Onyango Obama. President Obama referred to Sarah as “granny” in his memoir, “Dream From My Father.”

ABC reports that Obama’s grandmother was traveling home to the village of Kogelo when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car rolled into a ditch and all five people, including two body guards, were transported to the hospital. No one was seriously injured in the crash.

A hospital spokesperson said that Sarah suffered a few bruises but was released after a couple hours in the hospital.

Here’s a video of the wreck.
