Asia Carrera Arrest: Former Adult Film Star Arrested For DUI, Drove Daughter To School Drunk
Asia Carrera was busted for DUI, and placed under arrest while driving her 10-year-old daughter to school.
According to Mail Online, the 41-year-old was arrested in St. George, Utah, after some people at the school became concerned and reported her to police. She allegedly dropped her daughter off at school, and then went into the Washington County School District office where she passed out on a couch. When police arrived on the scene, Carrera was given a breathalyzer among other tests. Her blood alcohol level was.254 percent. The legal limit in Utah is.08 percent.
“Steinhauser, who also has a 9-year-old son, was charged with driving under the influence with a child. An officer reported Steinhauser said she brought her daughter to the district office for testing. She was booked into Purgatory Correctional Facility on $10,000 bail and was released after making the required bond payment.”
Asia Carrera is known to many as a porn star. Her arrest was shocking given the circumstances, and many couldn’t believe that she was drunk while with her daughter at her daughter’s school. As evidenced on TMZ, Thursday’s incident was met by plenty of criticism. Hundreds of people commented on Carrera’s mugshot photo, and most didn’t have very nice things to say.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Carrera retired from the adult video business in 2003. Back in 2010, Asia confessed to being an alcoholic, but many believed that she has been sober for the past couple of years at least. In 2012, she took part in a documentary that followed former porn industry stars as they dealt with real life problems — most of them described as “difficulties and tragedies.” It seems clear that Asia has struggled in her life following her career in porn.
According to the New York Daily News, Carrera made headlines when her license photo went viral. She had chosen to wear a metal strainer on her head, something that is being brought back up today thanks to her DUI.
“She said her choice of headgear reflected her religious beliefs in the satirical Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, aka ‘Pastafarianism,’ which opposes the teaching of intelligent design, instead of evolution, in public schools,” reported the New York Daily News.
