Sri Lanka and Scotland are ready to clash in the group stage of the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, and time is quickly coming to a close for some teams. Pool play is almost over, and there are some teams absolutely desperate for a win. Scotland is one of those teams, and Sri Lanka wants a win badly. The stakes are high in the 2015 World Cup, and you can watch it all streaming live online.
So far, Sri Lanka is 3-2 in pool play, and another victory would not hurt them at all as they heads into the Knockout Stage of the Cricket World Cup. An opening loss by 98 runs to New Zealand didn’t start things off well, but they’ve played nicely since then. Victories over Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and England have all helped, but a loss to Australia was huge.
Scotland would just give anything for a win a all right now. They’re 0-4, and some losses have been absolute demolitions. Losses in the Cricket World Cup include matches to New Zealand, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and a big one to England.
With the Cricket World Cup rolling on now, Scotland does not want to finish pool play without a single victory.
ESPN Cric Info says that Sri Lanka could be in trouble against Scotland and for a few weeks longer due to an injury to Dinesh Chandimal. Early diagnosis of the injury shows that Chandimal’s hamstring tweak could keep him out for as much as three weeks.
The injury happened against Australia, and it was instantly obvious that it wasn’t good. Chandimal is the fifth Sri Lanka player to sustain an injury during the campaign, and one that could really end up hurting their chances.
Sri Lanka does not play another match for a week after the one with Scotland, but an upset by the Scotland team could really damage them in the standings.
The match between Sri Lanka vs. Scotland is scheduled to begin at 14:30 local time (03:30 GMT) on Wednesday, March 11, at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart, Australia.
ESPN will begin online streaming at 11:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, March 10, but that is just one option to watch Sri Lanka vs. Scotland live. ESPN does charge a fee to watch all of the matches in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, so be aware of that.
