Duchess Kate Pretty In Pink As Pregnant Princess Celebrates Commonwealth Day: Parenthood Protocol Revealed

Duchess Kate Middleton looked pretty in pink as she celebrated Commonwealth Day. The occasion marked one of her last planned appearances prior to the Princess’ pregnancy, reported Hello.

After more than three years of marriage to Prince William, Kate has become accustomed to celebrating royal occasions in full style. And now, with baby number two due in April, Kate is managing to juggle being a yummy mummy to Prince George with her royal obligations.

The Queen discussed her views about Commonwealth Day in a message encouraging citizens to embrace fresh, youthful concepts.

“Ideas and ideals [must] continue to be young and fresh and relevant to all generations,” said the Queen.

Commonwealth Day has a long tradition, according to the Daily Mail. It ranks as the largest multi-faith celebration in the United Kingdom, attracting everyone from young children to politicians to royalty.

In addition to the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth encompasses nations ranging from Canada to India to New Zealand and Kenya. However, it is the Queen who heads up the 53 countries comprising the organization.

But although Princess Kate and Prince William follow through on such royal obligations, they want to give their children a relatively normal childhood experience, according to Hello.

When little Prince George first emerged from the hospital, it was his papa Prince, not a chauffeur, who put the baby in his car seat for his first royal car ride.

“I think driving your son and your wife away from the hospital was really important to me,” said William proudly. “I don’t like fuss, so it’s much easier to do it yourself.”

In addition, as the Inquisitr reported, Kate’s mother Carole Middleton has been closely involved in helping to raise Prince George. A combination of sexy grandmother and Supernanny, Carole hosted Kate, William, and George stayed at her Berkshire family home after the baby was born. That move provided both help from Carole and time for Prince William to use his paternity leave to form a close relationship with his new son.

And now as Prince George grows up, Carole spends time with her grandson, even shopping at a local market together.

While Kate encourages her mother to help her be hands-on in raising Prince George, Prince William is seeking to protect his son and future children from Prince Charles, reported the Daily Beast.

William is concerned that the royal scandal that occurred when Charles secretly enjoyed an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles could adversely impaact his children. In addition, Prince William feels that Charles chose to manipulate the media while sacrificing his own children, all in the name of recovering his reputation.

As a result, Princess Kate and Prince William defied tradition by skipping Christmas dinner at the Queen’s royal home. And although Prince Charles is Will’s father, it’s Kate’s father whom he calls “Dad.”
