Final Fantasy X re-release isn’t a remake, Square Enix says

Back at the Tokyo Game Show this past September, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy X would be making its way to the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita at some point. Some assumed that the re-release would be a remake, but that apparently isn’t the case.

Speaking at the Taipei Game Show recently, Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto took a few questions from those in attendance. Hashimoto was asked if the Final Fantasy X re-release was a remake or simply a remastering, and Hasimoto confirmed that it’s the latter.

“It’s being developed like a remaster, but the visuals will be much more improved compared to the original game,” Hashimoto said in an interview at the Taipei Game Show.

Unfortunately, there’s still no word on just when the Final Fantasy X re-release will be made available, nor have we had a proper look at it yet.
