Pool play in the group stage is nearing its end in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, and teams are desperately fighting for each and every win. Australia and Sri Lanka are preparing to face off, and they’re both near the top of Pool A so this is a huge match, and you can watch all the action streaming live online.
Australia is 2-1 in pool play so far, but they do have one non-result due to a match with Bangladesh being abandoned without a single ball bowled due to inclement weather. They got a win in their first match by defeating England by 111 runs. Australia lost by just one wicket to a strong New Zealand team, and then recently demolished Afghanistan.
On the other hand, Sri Lanka is right above them in the standings with a record of 3-1. Their only loss came in the opening match of the Cricket World Cup with a 98-run loss to New Zealand. Since then, they have chalked up victories over Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and a decisive win over England.
Confidence is overflowing in Sri Lanka right now, and it should because they are a very strong team. Others have even more faith in them, and think they will have no problem with Australia.
Legendary spinner Muttiah Muralidaren wrote about that very thing for the International Cricket Council.
“Once again Sri Lanka is set to be a threat at the business end of a major event,” Muralidaran wrote in a column on the International Cricket Council’s website.
“Sri Lanka have nothing to fear (against Australia).
“The team now has a full week to rest up and prepare for the match against Australia while, for Michael Clarke’s side, it will be a third game in nine days.”
The match between Australia vs. Sri Lanka is scheduled to begin at 14:30 local time (03:30 GMT) on Sunday, March 8, at Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney, Australia.
ESPN will begin online streaming at 10:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, March 7, but that is just one option to watch Australia vs. Sri Lanka live. ESPN does charge a fee to watch all of the matches in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, so be aware of that.
