‘Sister Wives’ Family Update: Kody Brown, Wives To Appear On ‘Oprah: Where Are They Now?’ Premiere

A new season of Oprah: Where Are They Now? premieres on Sunday, March 8, and those tuning in will get some updates from Sister Wives stars Kody Brown and his wives, Robyn, Meri, Janelle, and Christine. Fans just watched as the Brown family wrapped the most recent season of their show on TLC and explained to viewers why they chose to have Kody divorce Meri and formally marry Robyn. What will the family discuss with Oprah in their new appearance?

According to Us Weekly, the Brown family will open up about how their lives have changed since their sudden move from Utah to Nevada in 2011. Kody and the women will talk about how they had things in place regarding who would care for the kids if they were suddenly thrown in jail, and they often worried about how quickly they could all be torn apart.

As many Sister Wives fans will remember, the Brown family was facing potential charges from Utah authorities over their lifestyle choices. With the threat of jail hanging over their heads, they believed, they made a decision to move out of state and the children had only three days notice of the big change.

Season 5 ended with a special showing Kody, Robyn, Meri, Christine, and Janelle talking about the divorce and new marriage, and TLC has indicated that Season 6 will premiere in the fall. Though they have their critics, the Brown family says that nothing has truly changed in their family dynamic. In fact, Meri has tweeted that she and Kody will celebrate their 25th anniversary soon.

Robyn tweeted that the divorce doesn’t change anything for them, though she points out that it seems hard for people to understand it. The family says that the divorce was done so that Kody can perhaps formally adopt her three children with her ex-husband, though so far the Browns haven’t given any further updates about that progressing.

Also ahead in Sunday’s premiere of Oprah: Where Are They Now? will be updates from Matthew Shepard’s parents as well as a segment with Leeza Gibbons. Of course, fans of Leeza’s know she snagged a big win with the season of Celebrity Apprentice that just ended, and everybody will enjoy hearing what else she’s got going on these days.

The Oprah Winfrey Network teases that other shows this season will feature updates from David Kaczynski, Ted Kaczynski’s brother, as well as Rusty Yates, the former husband of Andrea Yates. Andrea drowned the family’s children, Paul, Mary, Luke, Noah, and John, in a bathtub in 2001 as she suffered from postpartum psychosis. It’s shaping up to be an intriguing season of Oprah: Where Are They Now?, and it all begins with the Sister Wives crew in the season premiere airing on Sunday, March 8.
