WWE News: Updates On Big Names Added To Ladder Match And Andre Battle Royal At ‘WrestleMania 31’

As of March 5, the card for WWE WrestleMania 31 has just four matches, and two of them aren’t even fully complete yet. One of the most anticipated matches is that of the Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Title, as it’s shaping up to be extremely star-studded, and so is the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. A few more names have been confirmed for both, so let’s check out the updated card.

Lots of rumors have been flying around about who could be in the IC title match, and WWE has now officially confirmed two more names in Dean Ambrose and Luke Harper. They will join R-Truth and champion Bad News Barrett.

That leaves fans to wonder who else will join the match because the graphic is confusing.

According to the graphic, there are just two spots remaining, but that is what doesn’t make much sense. At the SmackDown taping on Tuesday, Dolph Ziggler opened the show by confirming he was going to be in the match. That makes five.

Daniel Bryan has been involved in the whole gang fight for the IC title for a couple of weeks now, and he was again at Tuesday’s taping. That would make six if he’s added into the match. Then again, at the end of the taping, Stardust appeared and stole the title, which makes it seem like he wants in.

That would be seven. Add the fact that Goldust teased on Twitter that he wants in the match too, and now there would be eight. It will be interesting to see how far WWE takes this match leading up to WrestleMania 31.

Another big match is the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, which will happen for the second time ever. Unlike last year, where anyone without a match was essentially thrown in, WrestleZone reports that only 20 superstars will be in this year’s battle royal.

The Ladder Match is taking a lot of big names from the roster, and that will leave a number of undercard and mid-card guys without a match. Some have already been officially added to the battle royal, so here is who is in so far.

  • Fandango
  • Curtis Axel
  • Ryback
  • Darren Young
  • Titus O’Neil
  • Jack Swagger
  • Zack Ryder
  • Adam Rose
  • The Miz

You can likely expect to see Damien Mizdow and a host of others thrown in, but there are 11 spots remaining. The reunited Primetime Players obviously won’t be a part of any Tag-Team Title Match that may happen either.

Aside from these two matches, there are only two more officially confirmed. Sting will take on Triple H and then Brock Lesnar will defend his WWE Title against Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 31. At least, WWE hopes Lesnar will show up.

Lesnar is scheduled to be at Monday Night Raw this upcoming week, but whether or not he shows up remains to be seen.

The Ladder Match at WrestleMania 31 is really turning out to be the most anticipated match, and the Andre the Giant Battle Royal is always fun. WWE has just about three weeks to build the card up more and time is running out.
