Manny Pacquiao And Floyd Mayweather Fight Tickets: Can Celebrities Like Rihanna and Leonardo DiCaprio Even Get Ringside?

If you’re scrambling for tickets to the much anticipated fight between boxing icons Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Manny Pacquiao, you’re definitely not alone. Even celebrities like Rihanna, Leonardo DiCaprio and Will Smith are reportedly not able to get the usual complimentary tickets they would receive for appearing at such an event.

TMZ reports that Smith, DiCaprio and Rihanna have all been offered ringside Mayweather vs. Pacquiao seats in exchange for sporting a company logo — essentially trotting around the event like an advertisement for a particular company. That brand is a coconut water-vodka cocktail called VOCO water, but they’re probably not the only company on the lookout to capitalize on the close attention being paid to Floyd and Manny’s fight.

Great seats for the Mayweather and Pacquiao battle are going to be hard to get your hands on; even if you do have thousands of dollars lying around to drop on one night’s worth of entertainment. The MGM Grand isn’t even allowing offers on ringside tickets for anyone without a $250,000 line of credit at their casino.

Hoards of other notables, like Rihanna and DiCaprio, have been in contact with Floyd and Manny’s promotion teams just to get the opportunity to buy the best seats in the house. Bob Arum, Pacquiao’s manager, told ESPN Radio Las Vegas that fame is not going to secure anyone free access to the fight — even though it might, at least, push them to the front of the line.

“The calls I’m getting are unbelievable. I could spend the rest of the morning on the phone and sell out the entire place… When I get a call from a celebrity, and I assume when Mayweather’s camp gets a call from a celebrity, we immediately send them to MGM. We tell them ‘You guys fill the order.'”

Rihanna and Leonardo might have more luck getting freebies if they were at least in the same industry as Floyd and Manny. Until now, the only person showing up for free to watch Mayweather fight Pacquiao is Ronda Rousey, the recent UFC women’s champion. Fox Sports reported that Arum was floored by her win and offered her the one cost-free seat in the house.

Although Floyd and Manny’s fight will be broadcast on Pay Per View for those who can’t afford the massive ticket prices, you might be able to get a relatively inexpensive $1,000 ticket if you’re willing to sit pretty far back. Once you get to floor seats, however, the cheapest price is around $22,000 according to CNN Money. Even that lofty number is likely to skyrocket as Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Manny Pacquiao tickets become more and more scarce.
