‘Empire’ Spoilers: Empire Entertainment Under Total Attack In ‘Unto The Breach’

The IB Times noted the following.

“Hakeem and Jamal are still on their dad’s side and do their part to protect Empire Entertainment. Jamal pursues a duet with the famous singer Delphine (Estelle), while Hakeem continues patching up his relationship with Cookie. Older brother Andre looks to be taking a further step back from the throne after his fall from grace, but if he survives episode 9, perhaps a comeback may be in store.”

The episode also saw a return of Judd Nelson, who plays competitor Billy Beretti, the man who stole Anika away from Lucious.

There was plenty of action beyond the attack on Empire Entertainment. The episode also featured a duet between breakout star Jussie Smollet and Estelle, a remake of Estelle’s song, “Conquerer.”

The song came as a bit of a surprise to Smollet, who said he heard a snippet and didn’t realize he was listening to Estelle.

“I knew that it was going to be a duet but I hadn’t heart it was Estelle’s song yet,” he told Access Hollywood. “So I heard what I thought was the demo and said, ‘Yo, you’ve got to get Estelle,’ and they said, ‘Yo dummy, that is Estelle.’ ”

Smollet, who plays Jamal on the show, said fans will get to hear a lot more of his music very soon.

“There will be a Jussie Smollett album,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “I signed to Columbia. So darling [laughs] I’m label mates with Beyoncé and Adele and Barbra Streisand.”

But Smollet warned fans it was a lot different from what they are used to on Empire.

“It’s going to be a whole different thing. Now, the Empire family will still have something to do with it. I would love for Terrence to come and oversee the production of all of the music. And I would love for Timbaland to come on and Jim Beanz. We’ve all talked and they’re all down to work on it.”

After Wednesday’s exciting episode of Empire, there are already spoilers for Episode 10. E! Online noted that the episode “Sins of the Father” will focus on Andre’s mental illness, with backstory coming through some heartbreaking flashbacks.
