Conrad Hilton Pleads Guilty To Assault

Paris Hilton‘s younger brother, Conrad, has pleaded guilty to assaulting a flight attendant during a 10-hour flight from Los Angeles to London last July. Hilton reportedly suffered what one passenger described as “a psychotic episode” during which he stalked up and down the aisles of the plane, calling the other passengers peasants and threatening to get the flight staff fired.

Patricia Mitchell, a passenger on the flight, told GQ that Hilton seemed to be paranoid and that he spent the majority of the flight cursing at the flight attendants. GQ quotes Mitchell as saying the following.

“He was being demeaning. I thought he was in the middle of a psychotic episode. For at least an hour I was thinking: are we going to have to go back? Are they going to turn the plane around?”

According to the criminal complaint, Hilton eventually was restrained while he was asleep and was arrested upon landing. Hilton essentially admits his guilt for verbally assaulting the flight staff and credited another passenger for calming him down saying,

“If that man wasn’t there, that guy [the flight attendant] would have been fucking killed on that flight. A hundred percent I would have killed him.”

Twitter comments show the disdain Hilton displayed toward his fellow passengers can be directed toward him as well.

Being a Hilton does seem to have its perks. What could have been a twenty year sentence was whittled down to a maximum of six months in jail with a $5,000 fine. CBS News reports that prosecutors will ask for probation. Based on Hilton’s sweetheart plea deal, he must have been right when he reportedly said the following.

I could get you all fired in five minutes. I know your boss. My father will pay this out, he has done it before. Dad paid $300,000 last time.”

What do you think should have happened to Conrad Hilton? Is probation sufficient punishment for threatening a flight attendant on an international flight?
