WWE 2K15 Developer Explains Why 2K Hasn’t Updated WWE 2K15’s Roster

When WWE 2K15 was released for Xbox 360 and PS3 in late October, and for PS4 and Xbox One in early November, there were immediately questions surrounding the content in the game. One of which was if 2K Sports was going to update the attires of the three former members of The Shield — Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns — as the faction officially disbanded roughly six months before the game was released. Unfortunately, the answer was no.

WWE fans have continued to press the issue, as fans have updated the attires of the three former Shield members and uploaded them to the Community Creations. But unfortunately, that only takes care of the superstar’s attire and not his entrance, entrance music, entrance video, and move set.

WWEGames Community Manager Marcus Stephenson addressed this issue, and explained why WWE 2K15 doesn’t have the living roster feature that NBA 2K15 has, and why it’s so difficult to go in and edit a particular wrestler’s appearance.

“We model an entire superstar, entrance, animations, etc. VERY different than sports games that have a set number of body types and replace heads. I would know — I was a designer at EA SPORTS and actually assigned the body types.

It’s unlikely that next year’s WWE 2K16 will implement the living roster feature that not only the NBA 2K series uses, but every other sports game on the market uses.

While WWEGames and 2KSports haven’t announced the roster for next year’s WWE game, as it’s still eight months away from being released, NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks has announced that she will be in next year’s WWE 2K16 via Twitter.

This year’s WWE 2K15 featured a few NXT stars, and it’s expected that WWE 2K16 will feature even more NXT stars such as Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, Adrian Neville, Kevin Owens, Charlotte and — of course — Sasha Banks. It’s also very likely that Roman Reigns will be featured on the cover of WWE 2K16, as WWE is looking to make Reigns the face of the company.

The makers of the WWE 2K games are also looking to create a larger roster, as many people felt that WWE 2K15’s roster was a bit lackluster.
