WWE News: Daniel Bryan Rumored For Huge Ladder Match At ‘WrestleMania 31’

After losing to Roman Reigns at WWE Fastlane, many have wondered what will become of Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 31. Would he face off with Dolph Ziggler as they’ve been asking for? Would he battle a returning Sheamus? It seems WWE has other plans in mind for him, and he’s likely going to be part of a huge multi-man ladder match.

On Thursday, WWE’s official Facebook page announced that Bad News Barrett would defend his Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania 31.

“BREAKING NEWS: Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett will defend his title against multiple WWE Superstar opponents in a Ladder Match on the Grandest Stage in Entertainment, WWE WrestleMania 31, LIVE Sunday, March 29 at 8e/5p on WWE Network. ‪#‎31to31‬

That huge match will allow for the Intercontinental Title to once again be defended at the big show and also deliver an extremely entertaining match to fans. Some thought that it would simply be Barrett vs. Dean Ambrose continuing on to WrestleMania, but new names are being added to the mix.

It’s not yet known how many superstars will be in the contest, but it almost seems like this will be a “Money In The Bank” match for the IC title instead of a briefcase.

Ambrose is an obvious choice to be in it. Dolph Ziggler and R-Truth have started getting involved with Barrett lately, and that leads many to believe that they will also be a part of it. Now, it appears as if Bryan could join the fray too.

Last night on SmackDown, Dean Ambrose and Daniel Bryan both had a confrontation with Bad News Barrett. Later in the show, Ziggler and R-Truth were dealing with Barrett, and it seems like these five men will be a part of the ladder match.

It’s been rumored that Bryan would feud with Sheamus, who is about ready to return from injury. Bleacher Report even thinks that a match between the two at WrestleMania is the ideal situation.

Back in late January, Dolph Ziggler began tweeting hints that he wanted to face Bryan at WrestleMania. He stated it blatantly obvious, actually.

After that, Bryan got thrown into the program with Roman Reigns and that has ended with the latter going on to face Brock Lesnar in a month. That left Bryan either out in the cold with no match or a couple of options for other matches.

WWE putting Daniel Bryan into the ladder match for the Intercontinental Title makes a lot of sense and will please the fans. It hasn’t happened yet, but chances are that’s the direction that WWE is heading.
