Multiple Crime Scenes In Rural Missouri: 9 Dead In Shooting Spree [Breaking]

Nine bodies were discovered at multiple crime scenes in Missouri after a killer apparently went on a shooting spree, according to police.

Not many details have been revealed about the crime scenes or the possible relationship between the victim and the shooter. Police believe the gunman took his own life after killing eight people in Tyrone, an unincorporated community in southern Missouri.

Texas County Sheriff James Sigman confirmed to the Houston Herald Friday morning that there are four confirmed crime scenes in Tyrone, along with a possible fifth location and a sixth outside of Texas County in Shannon County. Officials also said at least two of the victims knew each other. However, it is not known whether they’re related or friends.

Sheriff Sigman did not release any additional information about the multiple crimes as police continue to investigate the murders. A press conference is scheduled for sometime on Friday morning, and more details should become available at that time.

The report indicates police came to neighbors’ doors at around 3:45 a.m. looking for fatalities or injured persons. Residents at another home said they were told to stay inside and not open doors to strangers.

The gunman in the multiple crime scenes is thought to have killed himself at the Shannon County location. According to the Herald report, a body was found in a parked car in the area.

Sigman said the Missouri State Highway Patrol established a temporary command post to facilitate the investigation. Additionally, school district staff were advised to report to work earlier than usual for counseling.
