Ellie Goulding, Lewis Hamilton Share Painfully Awkward 2015 Brit Awards Moment

Ellie Goulding and Lewis Hamilton shared a cringe-worthy moment during the 2015 Brit Awards ceremony that was so painfully awkward it immediately went viral.

You can check out their on-stage exchange, which came when they were onstage to present the Best International Female Solo Artist gong, in all of its woefulness below.

Fortunately for the pair, Madonna’s trip and fall in front of the gathered masses inside the arena and millions watching at home managed to eclipse the pair’s own failure.

The singer, who was wearing a wide dress when she walked onstage, turned to the Formula One driver and declared, “Sorry, I have to hold myself, I can’t stand.”

Hamilton, who is newly single after his split from Nicole Scherzinger, then turned to Goulding and remarked, “Your dress… You going to a wedding or something?”

Ellie Goulding then took this moment to unleash her comedic prowess on the world by responding, “Excuse me! Er, yeah, excuse me… ours!” And that was that.

After several awkward seconds followed, Gouling tried to cover up the mess by declaring, “That was a good one.”

Following the ceremony, Goulding took to her Twitter page to explain that the disastrous exchange was all of her fault, taking all of the blame away from the Mercedes driver.

Fortunately for the duo though, Madonna’s fall had all but expunged their own Brit Awards catastrophe from the public’s consciousness.

And just in case you haven’t seen Madonna’s own little less verbal more physical tumble, which came as she sang and danced on stage, you can check it out below.
