‘Scandal’ Schedule: When Does The Next New Episode Air?

Fans were quite relieved to see Olivia Pope finally make it home in the last new episode of Scandal. Now Olivia and her Gladiators can get back to their day-to-day business, and it seems there’s a compelling case ahead. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait another week for the next new episode.

The How to Get Away with Murder finale is taking up two hours of primetime real estate on ABC Thursday, February 26, pushing out the next new episode of Scandal a week. The Season 4, Episode 14 show, titled “The Lawn Chair,” will air on Thursday, March 5, according to TV Guide.

Although this show doesn’t typically do “ripped from the headlines” types of stories like some other shows do, this one seems to be along those lines. It seems a black kid is killed by a white police officer in Washington, D.C., and it quickly becomes a national story. Olivia seems to connect with the teen’s father, who apparently wants to take things into his own hands. However, this problem may be too big for even Olivia Pope to resolve.

Scandal spoilers indicate that not only will Olivia be trying to manage this crisis, there’s still the issue of the vice president to resolve. It certainly doesn’t appear that he’ll be saying anything about Mellie anytime soon thanks to the plan Huck, Lizzie, and Mellie orchestrated that gave him a stroke.

With Andrew Nichols incapacitated, that obviously leaves a key position open that needs to be filled. At this point, it’s not clear who will take over that role or when it will all play out. The description from ABC for the following week’s episode, “The Testimony of Diego Munoz,” teases a focus on some new information about B613 coming to light that generates some surprise for David Rosen.

Mellie has made it clear that she’s ready to start positioning herself for what comes after her run as first lady, and she’s got her eye on her own presidency. She’s not going to let anything stand in her way, and it seems that Scandal fans will be seeing a very determined Mellie as the rest of Season 4 plays out.

While it will take an extra week to see where it is all headed, fans know it will be worth the wait. The next new episode of Scandal, titled “The Lawn Chair,” airs on ABC on Thursday, March 5.
