Dez Bryant Video Update: NFL Releases 2011 Walmart Incident Report

The Dez Bryant video saga continues to unfold — even without the incriminating piece of evidence that has everybody talking.

Mike Florio, who was the first reporter to make public the apparent existence of a troubling video in which the Cowboys receiver was caught doing something Ray Rice-like, has now revealed via ProFootballTalk that the NFL has released a 2011 Walmart incident report that may be at the center of the alleged Dez Bryant video.

“Since Friday, much has been written and said about the rumored Dez Bryant video,” Florio writes. “As it turns out, the NFL was in possession of relevant evidence on the subject several days before I blurted out the existence of the rumor on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas.”

The details of the Dez Bryant Walmart incident do indeed sound shocking on paper:

“The report mentions that an unknown person called the police to explain that a black female was ‘being dragged from one vehicle to another vehicle’ by a black male. The vehicle the woman was dragged from was a Mercedes registered to Dez Bryant.”

The report on the Dez Bryant incident continues, detailing how when a police offer responded to the call from a Walmart security guard, no one was around. Moments later, however, two men, identified in the report as Carl King and Christopher Mitchell, showed up claiming to have received a call from the victim. This was followed by Dez himself arriving with the victim in his own car. With everything seemingly in order, the cops allowed everyone to go free.

The key to this report, of course, is whether or not there exists footage taken from Walmart’s surveillance on the night in question.

“Most if not all Wal-Mart stores have surveillance cameras blanketing the property,” Florio wrote. “Indeed, the longstanding rumor making the rounds among NFL reporters has been not just that an incident occurred at a Wal-Mart parking lot, but that there is video of it.”

ESPN’s Adam Schefter, a resourceful reporter with many NFL connections, has also been working on acquiring the so-called videotape. As reported by the Chicago Sun Times, Schefter has been pursuing this Dez Bryant video since September. After appearing on the Carmen and Jurko show on ESPN 100 in Chicago, Schefter cautioned, however, that nothing may ever materialize.

“You’ve got to be very careful on these things. People can talk about videos, they can talk about this they can talk about that. The fact of the matter is, it doesn’t mean anything and it’s really not fair to him right now until you have all your facts in line. Which we spent a long time trying to do.”

Dez himself has acknowledged that there could be a video through a series of cryptic tweets he has since deleted, as reported by the Inquisitr.

“I need to get me a real raw uncut tv show or something… I can’t continue to get betrayed like this,” Bryant tweeted Wednesday.
