Trista Sutter Thinks People Are Using ‘The Bachelor’ To Become Famous

Bachelorette star Trista Sutter went on the show years ago, and she went through the process to find her husband, Ryan Sutter. Trista and Ryan have been the prime example that the show can work, as the success rates of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette are actually very low. This couple is the show’s pride and joy. But Trista claims that the show was very different when she chose Ryan Sutter to be her husband.

Back when Trista Sutter was filming The Bachelorette, many of the contestants came on the show to find love. The guys were already working, well-established, and they were missing that piece of their lives that could potentially turn into a marriage. Now, Trista feels that people are taking advantage of the show because of its popularity.

According to new Wetpaint Entertainment report, Bachelorette star Trista Sutter is now revealing that she believes more and more people are going on the show for the wrong reasons because they see the fame that comes with being on the show. For example, Sean Lowe went on Dancing with the Stars, Ali Fedotowsky is now working with E!, and Jillian Harris is filming Love It or List It: Vancouver.

“People have figured out that people are able to stick around sometimes if they want to,” Trista Sutter has revealed, adding, “Ali Fedotowsky is now a correspondent on E! Yes if there are people out there looking for that fame they might think, ‘Well I’m going to go on this show because I want to promote my business’ or ‘I want to be an actress’ so yes that takes away from some of the innocence but I’ll always believe in the bottom line of the show that it truly is about people meeting and figuring out whether or not they have the compatibility that will work for a lasting relationship.”

Of course, Sutter does have a very valid point. When Ashley Rosenbaum was filming The Bachelorette, she fell head-over-heels in love with Bentley Williams. And while Bentley openly admitted in his one-on-one interviews that he was disappointed that it wasn’t Emily Maynard he was competing for, he wanted to stick around because he wanted to market his business.

Juan Pablo Galavis was rumored to be excited about competing on Dancing with the Stars, but he never got the chance. He was clearly assuming that he would be invited simply because he had been filming The Bachelor. So, Trista Sutter definitely has a point.

And Trista wants to spread the word about positivity — and perhaps doing things for the right reasons. According to the Inquisitr, Sutter has been writing a book about staying positive.

What do you think about Trista Sutter’s thoughts? Do you think she should help with the casting process to get more genuine people on the show?
