Katie Hamilton’s Husband Josh Relapses On Cocaine? New ‘RHOC’ Star May Be Suspended By The MLB
Katie Hamilton’s husband, Josh, is reportedly under investigation after an alleged cocaine relapse. The Real Housewives of Orange County’s latest addition is said to have struggled with cocaine addiction in the past, and now it appears his demons have returned.
On February 26, ESPN confirmed Katie Hamilton’s husband, an outfielder for the Los Angeles Angels, was scheduled to meet with the MLB on Wednesday. In a statement, the Angels’ general manager, Jerry Dipoto, stated that Katie Hamilton’s husband had flown to New York to meet with league officials. Dipoto did not reveal what the meeting was in regard to, and a spokesperson for the MLB declined to comment.
On February 25, CBS’s Jon Heyman took to Twitter, where he allegedly relapsed on “at least” cocaine. Below are his tweets, according to Deadspin.
“Hear hamilton had relapse. Believe occurred a couple months back. Involved at least cocaine. Honorably, he confessed.”
“There’s no word of a failed test. Word is, Hamilton told mlb about relapse. He’d be put in program as 1st time offender.”
ESPN did not reveal whether or not Katie Hamilton’s husband would be suspended.
Katie Hamilton’s husband’s struggles with addiction have reportedly been ongoing. In 2003, Josh took a season off baseball, citing “personal reasons.” Then, he was suspended from playing from February 2004 to June 2006 for “issues related to cocaine and alcohol addiction,” according to ESPN.
After Katie Hamilton’s husband returned to the league in 2006, he was ordered to undergo drug tests three times a week. Three years later, Josh allegedly relapsed. In 2012, he was said to have relapsed again.
On February 26, Katie Hamilton’s Real Housewives of Orange County co-star, Meghan King Edmonds, reached out to the Hamilton family in heartfelt tweet.
“I am praying for you @thejoshhamilton and @KatieHamilton32… Much love coming your way from the Edmonds family.”
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Katie Hamilton and her family were recently added to the cast of The Real Housewives of Orange County, along with Edmonds and her husband, former professional baseball player Jim Edmonds.
“The two new housewives are Meghan King Edmonds, who is married to baseball player Jim Edmonds, and [Katie Hamilton], wife of baseball player Josh Hamilton,” an insider close to production told Radar Online on January 27.
The source also revealed Bravo was happy with Katie Hamilton’s addition to the series.
“So far, the ladies seem to be great additions to the cast, and are definitely fitting in with the majority of the women.”
Katie Hamilton will make her Real Housewives of Orange County debut later this year on Bravo.
