Celebrity Chef Paula Deen Cooks Up New Show And Video Game To Butter Up Her Fans [Video]

Paula Deen is known as the Southern cooking queen, specializing in lots of butter, cheese, and sugar. But after she was accused of racist remarks, her cooking crown became dented. The confession that she had been hiding her diabetes diagnosis while cooking up fattening foods also tarnished her cooking empire. Now, however, Deen is making a comeback with a new cooking show, reported People.

Together with Compass Media Networks, Paula will dish the latest from her kitchen in two different ways. She’ll host a daily radio show as well as providing fodder in a weekly podcast.

“I had my first day in the studio yesterday and we had so much fun! I cannot wait to bring my vignettes and podcast to listeners around America,” said the 68-year-old chef. “I have a ton of fun tips up my sleeve to make their life a little easier.”

Set to start May 1, the podcasts will be entitled Get Cooking With Paula Deen and be carried on news talk as well as country radio stations. The 30-minute show that airs weekly is called What’s Cooking with Paula Deen.

A former star on the Food Network channel, Deen lost steam and her contract when she was accused of racist remarks. Many of her fans also felt betrayed when Paula revealed that she had been hiding her diabetes.

But as the Inquisitr reported, Deen recently resurfaced with a new line of food products, as well as pet products. And although the products included many fattening ones, such as “ooey gooey” butter cake mix, it also includes sugar-free ones.

Deen also has a new video game, which offers a tantalizing way to show off her recipes while enticing players with the promise of kitchen fun, according to GameSpot.

It’s called “Recipe Quest”and includes details about Paula’s career, fun with ingredients, and more.

And in addition to those new ventures, Paula has a magazine devoted to spreading the tasty news about her views on what constitutes good cooking, reported the News Herald.

The newest edition of Paula Deen magazine offers tips on where to dine for good chicken salad. Paula is squawking about a franchise called Chicken Salad Chick, which thrilled the creator of the franchise.

“We are extremely honored to be featured in such an esteemed publication,” said founder Stacy Brown. “Our team strives to provide a true chicken salad experience to each of our guests.”

But can Paula make a complete comeback after doing the public relations equivalent of scorching the fried chicken? She recently talked with the Today show about why she believes the Paula Deen empire can rise again because of the lessons she’s learned.

“Words are so powerful. They can hurt. They can make people happy. Well, my words hurt people. They disappointed people and frankly, I disappointed myself. And for that, I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry for the hurt that I caused people because it went deep.”
