Apple CEO Tim Cook Meets Israeli President Reuven Rivlin In Jerusalem

Apple CEO Tim Cook met with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin on Wednesday as part of his visit to Israel along with an Apple Inc. delegation.

Having thanked President Rivlin for hosting him, he said, “We have an enormous admiration for Israel, not just as an important ally for the U.S., but as a place to do business.” President Rivlin responded as follows.

“It is a great privilege to host you and your team here in Israel. Your contribution to humanity is unprecedented. Even for me as one who prefers to write with a pen and paper, it is clear to me, when I see through my staff, and my grandchildren, what a great miracle you have created.”

The relationship between Apple and Israel is clearly very warm, and Rivlin spoke about the new Apple center in Herzliya, Israel, which is slated to be a great source of employment for Israeli’s working in high tech, as well as other Apple offices and retail outlets in the Jewish state.

Rivlin continued, “True innovation can only result from full access to education for all, regardless of race, religion, or sex. We would like to learn from your experience in the U.S., in bringing education and technology to periphery groups and communities.”

The meeting was full of compliments, and Tim Cook offered his admiration to the President of Israel. “I personally admire your work in human rights; you are an inspiration for us to work even better,” he said.

Cook concluded the meeting by speaking about the future of high tech in the Middle East, once again giving great appreciation to President Rivlin, “The will to leave a better world for our children and grandchildren is perhaps the greatest motivator, and listening to you, Mr. President, speak about your beliefs, is incredibly inspiring, and it has to be making a difference across the region.”
