Street Fighter X Tekken PS3/Vita gets two new exclusive characters

The PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions of Street Fighter X Tekken already have inFamous‘ Cole and Sony characters Kuro and Toro, and now they’re about to get two new strange exclusive characters: Pac-Man and Mega-Man.

Before all of you Mega-Man fans get too excited, there’s a catch: the Street Fighter X Tekken version of the character is far from what fans of the franchise will recognize. Instead, Capcom chose to with a goofy variation based on the hilariously bad Mega Man 1 box art.

If that isn’t strange enough for you, Namco’s representative in the fighting game crossover, Pac-Man, will be engaging in battles while riding on Mokujin from the Tekken series.

“In the spirit of crossover fun, the dev team wanted both Capcom and Namco’s mascots to join the fray in a slightly silly, goofy way,” Capcom said in a post on Capcom-Unity. “Pac-Man riding Mokujin is about as weird as it can get, so the best equivalent for Mega Man would have to be the so-bad-it’s-good-but-still-kinda-bad box art from Mega Man 1 in the US.”
