WWE News: Backstage Update On Vince McMahon’s Feelings Towards The Tag-Team Division

Tag-team wrestling was always a backbone of WWE. In the Attitude Era, teams like the Hardy Boyz, Dudleyz, and Edge & Christian oftentimes stole the show at a WWE event. After the teams either retired or left WWE, the tag-team division never went back to its original level. To this day, no team has ever reached the success of those WWE legends. However, there’s a chance that it could happen once again.

During WWE’s Attitude Era, Vince McMahon was very high on the tag-team division; hence, the reason for its booming success. According to Daily Wrestling News, McMahon is very high on the tag-team division once again, which might be the reason it’s getting larger.

“Vince McMahon is said to be back on his tag team kick once again. This is part of the reason why The Prime Time Players are being reunited and why Sin Cara and Kalisto were brought to the main roster together.”

“It will be interesting to see if they do a multi-team match at WrestleMania 31 for Cesaro and Tyson Kidd’s WWE Tag Team Titles. While the tag division is gaining some teams, it’s worth noting that they are also losing a team as The Miz and Damien Sandow are expected to work a singles match at WrestleMania.”

The WWE is in a very interesting predicament with their tag-team division. Goldust and Stardust have officially broken up and are heading for a match at WrestleMania 31. Like the report mentioned, Damien Mizdow and the Miz are not an official tag-team anymore, but do still work together. Hopefully, they have a match at Mania.

NXT’s tag-team division is booming right now, too. Though the Ascension went to the main roster, which seems like a waste of their time, NXT has Blake and Murphy, Enzo Amore, and Big Cass, as well as Aiden English and Simon Gotch.

As for Kalisto and Sin Cara, they already debuted on the main roster, even though it was technically Main Event. If Vince McMahon is serious about bringing up the level of intensity of WWE’s tag-team division, then it’s now time to prove it. Just as the report mentioned, a multi-team match at WrestleMania would fit the bill perfectly. It might even have the potential to steal the show.

Tag-team wrestling is in the air in WWE. Bubba Ray Dudley, who made a surprise comeback at the Royal Rumble, has talked about coming back to WWE with Devon. Also, the WWE just announced the Bushwhackers into the WWE Hall of Fame. There is no better time to boost the tag-team division than right now.
