West Indies were upset by Ireland and no one really saw it coming. Zimbabwe is hoping that they will be able to do the exact same thing, but it’s going to take a lot of precision, accuracy, and big bats. Their match in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup will take place at the Manuka Oval, and if you can’t be there, you can watch all the action streaming live online.
Sean Williams is one of the premiere players for Zimbabwe, and the Sydney Morning Herald reports that he is hoping an upset like the one Ireland pulled off can happen again. Ireland’s big upset of West Indies was the first big one of the Cricket World Cup.
Williams wants Zimbabwe to do the same.
“We saw what Ireland did to the West Indies so why can’t we do that?
“They are a strong side through and through… but they have been a little hit-and-miss recently, they didn’t have the best tour of South Africa, so confidence on their side must be down a little bit.”
After the loss to Ireland, West Indies rebounded with a big victory over Pakistan by 150 runs. Zimbabwe lost their opening Cricket World Cup match to South Africa by 62 runs but defeated the United Arab Emirates by four wickets in their second.
West Indies are very used to Canberra’s ground and they have a lot of experience with good memories there. In 2010, Chris Gayle smashed 146 off just 89 balls against the Prime Minister’s XI. That inning alone included eight sixes and 14 fours.
Zimbabwe will have to do everything possible not to see that kind of performance against them, and stopping that makes them confident they can take the win.
The match between West Indies vs. Zimbabwe is scheduled to begin at 14:30 local time (03:30 GMT) on Tuesday, February 24, at the Manuka Oval in Canberra, Australia.
ESPN will begin online streaming at 10 p.m. EST on Monday, February 23, but that is just one option to watch West Indies vs. Zimbabwe live. ESPN does charge a fee to watch all of the matches in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, so be aware of that.
Some of the other options include CricHD, PTV Sports, Sky Sports 2, or Star Sports, and these will be good to check out West Indies vs. Zimbabwe in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. You will be able to enjoy any of these streaming options to watch the match live and not miss a moment of the action.
