Kloe Rose Donohoo: Child Still Missing, Texas Police Say Disabled Man And Dodge Caravan Not Found

Kloe Rose Donohoo, a 6-year old girl, is missing, and the Texas Amber Alert system has been activated. KHOU is reporting that Kloe Rose Donohoo has vanished and is believed to be in the company of Austin Edward Carlin, a mentally disabled man who is unable to read.

Police have indicated that Donohoo was last seen on Saturday at 11:30 p.m.., when she disappeared from her grandmother’s house in the Corpus Christi area. The missing little girl is described as a white female who is 36 inches tall with blue eyes and brown hair. She weighs about 56 pounds. She was wearing pink glasses and has a scar over her right eye brow, according to 12 News. A clothing description for the child was also unavailable.

Authorities have not stated what relationship Carlin has with the child, though some suspect that he could possibly be the girl’s father. Police say that Austin Edward Carlin is a 19-year old white male who weighs approximately 170 pounds and stands 65 inches tall. He has brown eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black tank top with denim blue jeans and black shoes. He took off in a white 1998 Dodge Caravan with Texas plates, which read: 6BZXV

The Corpus Christi PD Amber Alert reads as follows.

“Missing child Kloe Donohoo 6yoa, taken from 2002 Yorktown, has been found safe. More info coming soon. Thank you all!”

Law enforcement authorities are asking everyone to be on the look out. Anyone with information should contact the Corpus Christi Police Department at (361) 886-2600. As news of the missing child’s case makes headlines, community members speculate on the details of the case.

“That is dangerously close to the border. Thank God she was found because once they cross that line it’s pretty much impossible to bring them home.”

“Sounds like he was headed for the border.”

“I don’t think his intention was to drive across because he was closer already (Corpus) This guy has a learning disability and does not know how to read, so I am assuming that he just got in the car and drove.”


***Update: According to KIII News, the Corpus Christi Police Department has Austin Carlin in custody. He has been charged with kidnapping. Police located Carlin at around 12 p.m., in an area close to Ozona and I-10.

***Update: KHOU is reporting that the Amber Alert for Kloe Donohoo has been cancelled. They are also reporting that the little girl was found safe. Police are still looking for Austin Edward Carlin, whom they believe may have had a hand in her sudden disappearance.
