Kate Bush’s Cool New Shadow Puppet Animation [Video]

Kate Bush continues to bring out interesting and highly creative work, whether it’s through music or collaborations. ‘Lake Tahoe’, the third track taken from Bush’s glorious ’50 Words for Snow’ album is used in the ‘Eider Falls at Lake Tahoe’ animation. This visionary animation shows a dog making its way home going over mountains and forests. Haunting and moody, the piece uses shadow puppet animation to its finest effect.

Asked about shadow puppet animation, Kate Bush said it is:

“one of my favourite art forms because of its simplicity.”

The other two tracks used thus far are ‘Misty’, for the claymation piece ‘Mistraldespair’, and ‘Wild Man’, a beautifully snowy animation. The originality of these videos show Kate Bush to be on fine form and pushing the barriers of both music and animation. Her album, ’50 Words for Snow’, has received almost universal praise and currently boasts a score of 85 on Metacritic.
