Oscars Goodie Bag Swag Worth $167,000: Includes Luxury Condoms, $5,000 ‘Orgasm Booster’, $250 Vibrator
The Academy Awards nominees that don’t walk away with an Oscar will not walk away empty handed. In fact, the losers will walk away with over $167,000 worth of Oscar swag, courtesy of marketing company Distinctive Assets.
The 87th Academy Awards show is Sunday, and the “losers'” swag bags have been announced. We can hardly feel sorry for those who don’t walk away with a golden Oscar statuette, as the losers will walk away with over $160,000 of gifts in hand. Business Insider notes that marketing firm Distinctive Assets is providing “Everyone Wins at the Oscars Nominee Gift Bags” for the 13th year running. The group provides the gift bags to losing nominees in all best and supporting actor and actress categories, along with nominees in the best director category.
This year’s gift bags are record-breaking. In fact, the 2015 Oscars swag bags are worth $17,000 more than the previous record holding bag of $150,000, set back in 2005. So what types of gifts make up the eye-popping $167,000 price tag? A few of the gifts with hefty price tags are somewhat risqué, with items such as luxury condoms, a vibrator, and “orgasm booster” making the list.
USA Today reports that the Afterglow Pulsewave Vibrator will be included in this year’s bag, and is touted as the “world’s only adult toy that utilizes a low-level laser to enhance arousal.” The fancy vibrator retails for $250. If a vibrator won’t cut it, the swag bag also includes a pricey “orgasm booster.” The Couple’s Love Shot gift certificate is available to each of two “lovers,” who can receive orgasm boosters including the O-Shot (Orgasm Shot), created by the same doctor who invented the Vampire Facelift to reduce wrinkles. The love shot has an astonishing retail price of $5,000. The gift bag also includes some safe sex items as well. “Luxury condoms” manufactured by Naked Luxury Condoms will also be included. The “world’s only luxury condom” costs $28 for two 6-packs.
For the Hollywood nominees who are looking for a less X-rated gift, the swag bag has something for everyone. From a getaway in Tuscany valued at $11,500 to a $68 six-pack of herbal-tea-based lollipops from Dosha Pops, there is something to help ease the pain of losing that coveted golden statue.

In fact, Variety points out that in 2006, the Academy voted to end the distribution of gift bags after reaching an agreement with the IRS that stipulated recipients of the swag bags would have to pay taxes on them.
