Bobbi Kristina Brown Update: Undergoes ‘Normal Procedure’, Condition ‘Still Critical’
Doctors performed a tracheotomy on Bobbi Kristina Brown earlier this week to rearrange her breathing tube. A source close to the family calls this a “normal procedure.” The source spoke to PEOPLE magazine about Bobbi Kristina’s procedure.
“The tracheotomy is a different place for the tube to go. Everything else remains the same. It’s a waiting game. The family is hoping and waiting.”
The source added that this procedure does not indicate a change in status for Brown.
“It’s a normal procedure to have the tracheotomy because if you have a breathing tube down there for a long time, it can cause an infection. She is still critical and we don’t know what the outcome will be. No one is giving up on this kid.”
Bobbi Kristina Brown, 21, has been hospitalized since she was found unresponsive in her bathtub on Jan. 31. A source told People that her condition remains grim as her family, including father Bobby Brown and grandmother Cissy Houston hold a candlelight vigil beside her bed.
Another family source spoke with PEOPLE on Thursday. They confirmed that Brown’s condition “hasn’t changed.” The tracheotomy has also made an impact on her family and loved ones. They’re holding out hope that the procedure improves Brown’s condition.
“There’s a medical reason behind [the tracheotomy], but it’s making things clear to everyone how serious this is. Even if she wakes up, there’s a possibility that this could do some damage to her vocal chords, I hear. This is happening because there are no other options. If there was another way, Bobby would do it.”
The Inquisitr just reported that Bobbi Kristina’s condition is improving and has no signs of organ failure. However, the potential for brain damage could happen after being without oxygen for weeks while in a medically induced coma. Bobbi Kristina’s neurologist said that if her brain does recover fully, her physical strength may take more time to recover.
Meanwhile, there’s a bitter battle between the Houstons and Browns. Family members have been fighting about Whitney Houston’s $20 million inheritance that she left Brown. According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, some of them have come out of the woodwork to pretend they show care for Brown.
A source close to Us Weekly also claims that Bobbi Kristina’s father, Bobby Brown, also has his eyes on the inheritance. Us Weekly’s source claims, “He’s determined to figure out the legal issues with the money.” Even though he claims Bobbi Kristina is going to wake up, Bobby Brown knows his daughter’s going to die and he will get the inheritance.
As Bobbi Kristina Brown still remains in a coma, her family members fight about her care and try to cash in on her tragedy.
