‘Killing Jesus’ Movie On TV: Release Date Announced By Bill O’Reilly

The movie adaptation of Killing Jesus finally has a release date, which was announced by Bill O’Reilly during his show, The O’Reilly Factor, on Wednesday night.

When O’Reilly and Martin Duggard released the novel Killing Jesus in 2013, it debuted at No. 1 in the New York Times bestseller list. Following similar successful publication of three other historical books, the authors quickly decided to bring the story to life on the small screen.

The Killing Jesus movie will be fittingly released on Palm Sunday, March 29. This date marks the day when Jesus arrived in Jerusalem, much to the chagrin of the Roman authorities.

O’Reilly is promising that viewers won’t be bored with a very different story of Christ than those we are used to watching on big and small screens. The novel looks at the life of Jesus and the events surrounding his crucifixion from a historical perspective.

The authors set aside the religious aspect of the life of Jesus and his mission to redeem sinners, and looked at the man who started a historic movement known as Christianity. O’Reilly has also promised the movie release of Killing Jesus will spark controversy.

National Geographic channel will once again bring this adaptation to the small screen, as it did with Killing Lincoln and Killing Kennedy. O’Reilly explains how the novel came to be.

“Martin Dugard and I are both Roman Catholics who were educated in religious schools. But we are also historical investigators and are interested primarily in telling the truth about important people, not converting anyone to a spiritual cause. We brought this dedication and discipline to Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy, and in these pages we will do the same with Jesus of Nazareth. By the way, both Lincoln and Kennedy believed Jesus was God.

To understand what Jesus accomplished and how he paid with his life, we have to understand what was happening around him. His was a time when Rome dominated the Western world and brooked no dissent. Human life was worth little. Life expectancy was less than forty years, and far less if you happened to anger the Roman powers that were.”
