‘Incredibles 2’ Release Date And Rumors Galore

The Incredibles 2 release date may be announced as soon as this summer, if recent rumors are true. It was previously said that director and voice actor Brad Bird was holding out until he had a story worthy of being called a sequel.

“Pixar does not look at sequels as a financial plan. We feel we have a relationship with the audience and that they believe in each movie we put out. We believe completely in every movie we put out. If I can come up with a story that is as good or better than that first film, then I’d love to return to that world, but it would to be story first.”

It seems that Bird now has an Incredibles 2 story in mind, and he’s not about to do the same thing with The Incredibles that Disney has been known to do with most of its major animated properties (milk it with straight-to-DVD sequels).

This is tied with the recent announcement by Disney CEO Robert Iger that the movie is being planned, and with that announcement, CrossMap says that the Incredibles 2 release date could be sometime in early 2016.

That assumption is based on basic production time estimates which point to a possible first Incredibles 2 trailer this summer. Pixar 3D director Josh Hollander fueled this rumor with an enthusiastic announcement.

“Right now, we’re working on The Incredibles, which is a lot of fun in 3D. I’m not sure what the release strategy for it will be. It’s been an interesting challenge to work on technology because — while the film was released 10 years ago — the technology is even older as it took four years to make.”

Realty Today took a look beyond the Incredibles 2 release date rumor and has already begun speculating who the main villain might be. They claim that the ending setup from the first film was too obvious, and the Underminer was just a tease.

The main Incredibles 2 villain will most likely be someone completely new, related to an older character. One possibility could be the man who Mr. Incredible saved from the suicide attempt, while another could be an understudy who wants to take over where Syndrome left off. Gazerbeam was described in the comics as a member of a team of supers who dismissed him. Despite having been found supposedly dead in a cave, he might resurface as Syndrome’s replacement.

Everything is speculation for now, but with the announcement of the film being underway, the Incredibles 2 release date could be known by the end of this year.
