Jennifer Gimenez appeared on Tuesday night’s episode of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. On the show, Gimenez sat down with her longtime friend, Brandi Glanville, to discuss the disease of addiction.
For the last few episodes of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, cast members have been growing concerned over Kim Richards’ sobriety.
After Eileen Davidson’s poker night, questions were raised after Richards lashed out at Lisa Rinna after she asked her if she had been drinking. In retaliation, Richards told Rinna, “f**k you,” and appeared to be extremely uneasy.
Eventually, Richards admitted to her sister, Kyle, that she had taken a pain killer given to her by her ex-husband, Monty Brinson. This raised even more questions.
After a dramatic couple of episodes, Richards’ close friend, Glanville, met with Gimenez at the beach, where Glanville admitted to having doubts about Richards’ ability to maintain her sobriety while confronted with alcohol on a regular basis.
During their chat, Gimenez explained that Richards needs to have a community around her, whether it be a sober coach, counselor or otherwise. She also said Richards needs to avoid temptation when possible.
As an addiction counselor and recovering addict, Gimenez is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to addiction and recovery, and provided Glanville with information that will hopefully allow her to better handle Richards’ needs.
On Twitter, Lisa Rinna expressed thanks in Gimenez’s advice.
“Amen @JenniferGimenez! Thank you for speaking your mind and the truth. XO #RHOBH.”
Many fans of the show also tweeted kind words for Gimenez. Below are a couple of their comments:
“I must say Im LOVING me some @JenniferGimenez on #RHOBH! Ur exp makes ur advice priceless!”
“One again @JenniferGimenez is the voice of reason.”
As the Inquisitr reported, Rinna spoke of Jennifer Gimenez in her Bravo blog.
On February 17, she wrote the following:
“The conversation between Brandi and her friend Jennifer on the beach was a powerful one. She IS a trained addiction specialist, and she truly understands first-hand what an addict goes through and needs in order to be supported through sobriety. Kudos to Jennifer for speaking so candidly on the topic.”
Glanville also spoke of Gimenez, telling her blog readers, “We’ve been friends for so long, I can’t remember when it started. We’ve been through a lot, and she really gets me and my conflict with knowing how to be the best friend I can be to others.”
“We’ve been through breakups, makeups, her challenges with recovery, my divorce, our careers, major life changes, and everything in between. Smart lady, love her.”
No word on when fans will see Jennifer Gimenez return to the show.
