‘Celebrity Apprentice’ Renewal: Will Donald Trump’s Show Be Back For Another Season?
The Celebrity Apprentice 2015 winner was announced Monday night after a fierce battle between Leeza Gibbons and Geraldo Rivera. Until Monday night’s finale, there had been no word from NBC as of yet regarding another season. Luckily for fans, Donald Trump was able to share some news with viewers just before announcing this season’s winner. What’s the scoop?
Fans know that this current season was filmed quite some time ago and it then sat collecting dust on a shelf for a while waiting for a premiere date. That left many wondering if this would be the end of the long-running series. However, the ratings for this 2015 season have been solid and it seems that NBC and Donald Trump decided to give the show another run. The Celebrity Apprentice was renewed for Season 8, so fans will get more of the show they love so much.
Trump made the announcement right before sharing that Leeza Gibbons was the Celebrity Apprentice 2015 winner. The show also confirmed the news via Instagram and fans are thrilled. As TVLine notes, the next offering will be Season 15 of the franchise as a whole, and Season 8 of the celebrity version. At this time there is no premiere date pinned down by the network.
Though Celebrity Apprentice spoilers had been floating around for months, given how long ago the show taped everything but the finale, fans still tuned in to see it all play out. Ratings for this current season are said to have topped Season 6 which aired in the spring of 2013, and declared Trace Adkins as the winner. The previous seasons of the celebrity version of the show have aired during the spring timeframe, and given that the renewal news just came for Trump and his crew, most would imagine they’ll have a bit of a wait yet for this next season to debut.
Many had pegged Leeza Gibbons as the likely winner for this season from early on and she pulled out the win in the end. There was plenty of drama on this season, with some interesting twists and turns with the firings. What will Donald Trump come up with to top this season? While it will take a bit yet for any Celebrity Apprentice spoilers to emerge regarding the new cast or any frontrunners, fans can start their dream cast lists now.
